Coding the Standard Location Protocol
EPIRBs with MMSI (General) -
Bits 41 - 60
Bits 41 - 60 are coded with the last 6 digits of the vessel Maritime
Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) in binary format. For example if the
last 6 digits of the MMSI were 506153, bits 41 to 60 would be coded
as:
0111 1011 1001 0010 1001
Special care must be taken when coding this protocol in situations
where the National administration has been allocated more than one country
code (bits 27 - 36). When this option is used it is critical that the
country code provided in bits 27 - 36 correspond to the first 3 digits
of the vessels MMSI code.
