User Location Protocols

User Location Protocols are long format messages (i.e. bit 25 = 1) whose first protected data fields (PDF-1) are encoded as User Protocols except that the message format bit is set to "1". For example the User Location variant of the Maritime User Protocol is formed by coding the PDF-1 of the beacon as per the Maritime User Protocol, except that bit 25 is set to "1". With the exception of Orbitography, Test and National User Protocols, all long message format User Protocols are User Location Protocols.

The complete coding options (including the "Identification Data" field) for each implementation of the User Location Protocol can be accessed from the User Location Protocol section of the table of contents.
