The Cospas-Sarsat Secretariat is the administrative body of the International Cospas-Sarsat Programme.

The Secretariat currently consists of 9 staff [ Secretariat contacts ]. Its mission is to assist the Council in the implementation of all its functions in support of the management of the Programme, including conferences, administrative support, System documentation, and international liaison.

The Secretariat staff provides technical and operational support and expertise to participating countries/organisations and users on matters ranging from System status, System specifications and performance requirements, distress beacons type approval and beacon registration, space and ground segment operations and alert data distribution.
